Design Process Steps
- 1Initial Phone Conversation
To obtain the scope of work; A full garden makeover or a bespoke planting plan.
- 2Client Questionnaire
A more detailed gathering of information about the requirements you have for your new garden. It will include the given budget, aesthetics and function, features and preferred planting style along with the fee price list for the seperate services offered.
- 3Consultation
We start with a detailed discussion about your vision, needs, and site conditions based on the information given in the questionnaire. We will discuss the feasibility of features within the constarints of the site and budget, the materials and layout. We will make a concise summary of the essential aspects required, forming your client brief to me for the design. We will also confirm the fee to be paid for the design process.
- 4Site Analysis
Once the services have been understood and accepted, a thorough assessment of your garden including soil conditions, drainage, existing plantings and structural features, and microclimates will be made to inform the design process. A site surveyor made be required on large or more extensive grounds.
- 5Concept Development
The creation of a provisional design plan including a 3d model to give the opportunity to visualise the proposed design in a collaborative approach that welcomes your input and feedback.
- 6Detailed Design
I will present to you a detailed, hand drawn scaled plan accompanied by sketches of the views given by the design of the garden. Additionally, a 'Materials and Features Specification' that contains the products used in the hard landscaping and annotated with the placement of prominent trees and shrubs. To reach this point it may take upto three to six weeks.
- 7Quotation
A detailed costing for implementing the garden plan with relevant pricing from additional specialists and landscaping contractors. It can take up to four weeks to agree and obtain a start date for work to commence. Upon acceptance a contract will be signed including the payment schedule for the realisation of your garden plan.
- 8Revisionary period
Prior to construction any revisions to the original design will need to be decided upon between us regarding; choice of materials, sizing and availability of products and plants. A direct contract with the landscaper will be required. After this point, further changes to the plan will be agreed at the landscaper's discretion.
- 9Implementation Support
Guidance throughout the installation process, including contractor recommendations, plant sourcing, and ongoing support to ensure successful establishment.
- 10Aftercare & Maintenance
Continued support with maintenance advice, seasonal care guidance, and monitoring to ensure your garden thrives and evolves beautifully over time.
