A project to enhance biodiversity in Enfield on a large expanse of lawn behind a manor house by increasing the range of habitats including strategies to mitigate against climate change. The curving style of the terrace and pathways is derived from the ornate wood panelling within the manor house leading the visitor to meadows, forest planting and a pond. Plants have been chosen to attract species of moths, butterflies, bats and dormice that have been recently discovered in the area. The bespoke lighting pillars are designed to avoid disrupting insect flight during the darker hours. To the left of the elevation an inverted conical roof diverts rainwater into a pond whilst irrigating an at risk native Wild Service tree.
Let's discuss how we can create an inspiring, sustainable, wildlife-friendly garden for you.
